Sa Bom Nim Henry Pugh
Henry Pugh was born in Plant City, Florida, but he got to
Texas as soon as he could. He graduated High School in
Michigan, got married, joined the Army, and when he was
stationed at Ft. Hood in 1991, he decided to stay. He has
lived in Belton since then and does not plan to leave.
Henry Pugh has been studying Tang Soo do since
November 1996. He knew from the start that this was the
right Martial Art for him and that one day, he wanted to teach Tang Soo
Do and share it with as many people as possible. Upon receiving his
Cho Dan (1st Degree Black Belt), he began teaching for his instructor in
the US Tang Soo Do Alliance. Shortly after being awarded his Ee Dan
(2nd Degree Black Belt) and Kyo Sa (Certified Instructor), Mr. Pugh left
his job in Corporate America and opened Belton Martial Arts Academy.
In May 2010, Mr. Pugh successfully completed testing and was awarded
the rank of Sahm Dan (3rd Degree Black Belt)
Henry now trains directly under Kwan Jang Nim Marco DiScipio,
Grandmaster of the American Tang Soo Do Association.
He has been invited to test for Sa Dan (4th Degree Black Belt) and Sa
Bom Nim (Master Instructor) in September 2015, a goal that he has
been training for nearly 19 years. In March 2016, at the annual ATA
National Tournament, he received his official Sa Bom Nim Certification
and his Masters Belt.
